Beckett brings elite goalkeeping experience to Ascend, from the national team pipeline to the top of the ACC. A four-year student-athlete at the University of Virginia (2012–2016), Beckett served as team co-captain in 2015 and 2016 and was a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference championship team in 2016. Honors include the 2015 ACC All-Tournament Team, the ACC Sportsmanship Award and the Coaches Award for Excellence (both 2015–2016), All-ACC Academic Team recognition in 2015, and the ACC Academic Honor Roll in 2013 and 2014. Beckett also earned the Leonard W. Sandridge Endowed Scholarship for the 2016–2017 year.

Beckett’s path to Charlottesville began in New Jersey, where Beckett was a two-time First Team All-CAL Division selection and a two-time Herald First Team League MVP at Lower Cape May Regional High School. He also spent six years in the USA Field Hockey system (2009–2015), progressing from Futures to Futures Elite and earning a spot on the U-19 Junior National Team for its tour of the Netherlands in 2013. Beckett went on to Senior High Performance and the Nexus Championship in 2015.

Beckett has coached at the University of Virginia and James Madison University field hockey camps, USA Field Hockey Futures, and the Heiko Milz Magic Goalies Camp. That experience gives Beckett a natural feel for teaching the position, from fundamentals to the mental side of the game.

Beyond the turf, Beckett is a creative at heart, with a love of performing arts (musical theater, a cappella, and the flute), visual arts (drawing, painting, and sculpting), and literary arts (creative writing and poetry). Beckett also serves the community as a Police Sergeant with the University of Virginia Police Division, following earlier service with the Charlottesville Police Department.
